Adventure & Recreation

Who doesn’t love an adventure? Our recreational activities help residents face their fears, identify and take healthy risks, and fully engage in the recovery process.

At Hope Lodge, we believe that recovery must be taken seriously, but having fun in recovery is essential for long-term success. That’s why we offer adventure therapy as a part of our addiction treatment program. Adventure therapy uses adventure-based activities to help individuals face and overcome emotional issues, addiction, and behavioral problems.

Adventure-Based Activities

We provide a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, concerts, kayaking, meditation, yoga, dance, wilderness and spiritual treks, and attending AA/NA conventions. These activities foster improvement in cooperation, working as a team, facing fears, overcoming obstacles, and healthy decision-making. Our adventure program is designed to assist clients in rediscovering their passion, dreams, and goals while practicing recovery skills they’ve learned in group or individual sessions.

Adventure and Recreation at Hope Lodge

By participating in adventure therapy, clients learn how to have fun in recovery without the use of drugs or alcohol. They also develop important life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication that can be applied to their daily lives after treatment.
